Kentucky – The U-S House Energy and Commerce Committee voted on a compromise health care reform bill Friday. Conservative Democrats had balked at some of the provisions in the original draft and called for changes. First District Representative Ed Whitfield serves on the panel. He says he doesn't find the new agreement that much different.
"Over the past few weeks, the American people have been totally focused on the changes that were going to be advocated by the Blue Dogs in the U.S. Congress. And I may be wrong, but it seems to me that there's not any major significant change in this agreement."
Conservative democrats say they've cut $100 billion in costs and pared down the bill's proposed public option plan.
