Frankfort, KY – The Commonwealth has raised an additional $1.1 million by selling old vehicles and machinery. The governor's office reports old trucks, backhoes, mowers, cars and dump trucks were sold in a public auction attended by about 900 people yesterday. Governor Steve Beshear says the auctions are helpful to the buyers and to state government, which is hurting from a loss of revenue due to the ailing economy. Part of the revenue from the auction will be used to purchase new equipment and more efficient vehicles.
