Knoxville, TN – The Tennessee Valley Authority has upped the amount of wind-generated power it plans to buy from a +100 turbine operation in Kansas. TVA says it has agreed to buy up to 201 megawatts of renewable energy from the Midwest wind farm under development. Electric power generation is expected to begin in 2012. A TVA spokesman says the financial arrangements are "competitive information" and are not being released. The utility has already started transmitting electricity from other Midwest wind contracts.
