Paducah, KY – School officials are considering renaming Paducah Middle School once a new campus is built nearby. Board members say a new school deserves a new name and some say they want to get away from the school's current acronym: PMS. Several ideas are being thrown around, including tweaking the name to Paducah Tilghman Middle School or renaming it altogether after an influential person. The Paducah Sun reports board members will continue to discuss the initiative for another five to six meetings and welcome public input. Contractors expect to begin construction of a new campus next July, as long as the school district completes its buyout of 31 neighboring homes.
