Frankfort, KY – Kentucky State Police say it was a record year for methamphetamine labs in Kentucky. The highest incidence of labs was found in the state's largest county, Jefferson. Statewide, 1,080 meth labs were found in the Commonwealth last year, a record-breaking number for the state. Law enforcement costs associated with meth labs last year totaled almost $3 million. The figure includes investigative, waste-removal cleanup, supplies, lab analysis and waste transportation costs.
