Paducah, Ky. – Today, the National Trust for Historic Preservation named Paducah, Kentucky, one of its 2011 Dozen Distinctive Destinations. For a dozen years, the Historic Trust has selected communities that offer cultural and recreational experiences different from those found at the typical vacation destination. Trust President Stephanie Meeks cites the restored landmark buildings and historic floodwall murals among the criteria that put the river city on the list. Among the dozen, Paducah stands with Sonoma, California; Saint Paul, Minnesota; and Colorado Springs.
