Frankfort, KY – A Kentucky Senate committee has approved a bill that would sharply increase the amount of contributions that local school board candidates could receive from individual donors. The bill would raise the individual contribution limit from $l00 to $1,000 in school board races. The measure, sponsored by Representative Mike Cherry of Princeton, was approved Wednesday by the Senate State and Local Government Committee and now heads to the full Senate. The committee tacked on another provision to the bill that would require a political action committee to designate a contact person who is not a registered lobbyist.
