US-60 TN Bridge Jumper

By Chris Taylor

Livingston County, KY – The US-60 Tennessee River Bridge was shutdown for about 30 minutes last night as several McCracken and Livingston county emergency responders searched for a Paducah man preparing to jump from the structure. The man had contacted his wife who in turn alerted authorities. Police credit the crew of a passing James Marine tow boat, which helped to spot the man clinging to the bridge's underside framework. He then jumped some 40 feet into the water and was recovered by the vessel's crew. The man has yet to be identified and so far faces no charges.
