Louisville, KY – Kentucky's Court of Appeals will hear arguments today in a Graves County case involving Amish defendants. Attorneys for Jacob Gingerich claim a state law requiring slow-moving vehicle displays on their horse-drawn buggies violates the Amish communities' religious freedom. The defendants argue displaying the fluorescent yellow-orange triangle emblems are against their church's teachings. The state imposes the law for public safety reasons. A three-judge panel will the case today in Louisville.
