Four Area High Schoolers Get Ahead

By Angela Hatton

Paducah, KY – Four out of fifty high school seniors graduating from the Commonwealth Middle College in Paducah will receive dual degrees. This is the inaugural class at the West Kentucky Community and Technical College program, which began in 2009. Middle College allows students in high school to earn 36 hours of dual college credit. Principal Donna Ware says four students chose to complete an extra 8 classes to get their Associates degree. Those students were Jackie Lile of Lone Oak High School, Heath High's Jeremy Sneed, and Marshall County High students Katie Young and Ali Greer. The students graduate in May.
