Grand Chain, IL – Forecasters say additional rain this week will add to an already swollen Ohio River. Minor flooding had closed parts of low lying areas along the river. Workers at the Grand Chain Dam have closed the lower level of the powerhouse due to rising water. Work Leader Lynn Crane says the parking lot is also flooded and employees are using boats to get around. He expects the water to stay high for several weeks. Livingston County Emergency Management Director David Koon says communities in Tiline, Iuka, and Ledbetter could be at risk from flooding. Those same communities saw high water in March. Officials in Paducah don't expect the river to get high enough to warrant closing the flood wall gates.
