Paducah, KY – McCracken County officials tonight will hear a second round of public comments on a proposed zone change on property along Carneal Road and the Ohio River. A listening session is scheduled for 6:00pm at the County Courthouse. The proposal would change the 430 acre property from rural residential to heavy industrial, in order to build a coal terminal and coal-to-liquid plant. While the projects promise to bring in area jobs, opponents cite worries of airborne coal dust, noise and health issues. Commissioners plan to hold an official vote on rezoning next Monday.
