$13.6M in Roadway Projects

By Jacque Day

Western Kentucky – Roadways in McCracken, Hopkins and Muhlenberg counties are on the slate for repair contracts. They are among 19 emergency statewide maintenance projects totaling $13.6 million. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is calling for the repairs following damage by severe weather last winter. Governor Steve Beshear says it's necessary to draw the money from contingency funds because the projects are not scheduled in the year's Kentucky Highway Plan. The Cabinet plans to issue contracts quickly for the work, to take place on parts of Interstate 24, and the Pennyrile and Western Kentucky parkways.
