Murray, KY – A Kentucky School Boards Association energy manager is pushing state regulators to lessen the impact of power bills on schools. Engineer Darrel Pfingston says the Kentucky Public Service Commission should tie schools' electric rates to inflation. He says this would allow schools to pay about half the rate energy has been escalating in recent decades. The suggestion comes as Kentucky Utilities proposes an over 12% rate increase to pay for mandated environmental upgrades.
