Winkler at Kentucky Education Conference

By Devin Katayama

Louisville, KY – Actor and author Henry Winkler is a keynote speaker at this week's National Conference for Middle School Educators in Louisville. He'll be joined by U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and Kentucky Education Commission Terry Holliday. Winkler has written several children's books about a child with dyslexia. And he plans on addressing his own struggle with the disorder, which was diagnosed late in his life.

Around 5,000 educators are expected to pack into the Kentucky International Convention Center over the three day conference. If offers hundreds of sessions that help educators develop strategies and goals in the classroom. Topics like cyber-bullying and common core standards are popular this year. The conference begins Thursday.
