Murray, KY – Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear today says 125 projects across Kentucky will be funded with over $4 million in homeland security grants. Organizations from several west Kentucky counties were recipients of the funding which supports 9-1-1 systems, mobile computers and radios, bomb detection devices, and first-responder training. Some of the organizations to receive the grants include Paducah's police department for radios, and the Graves County Sheriff's Department for Mobile Computers. Beshear says the projects will "strengthen the effectiveness of our first responders" as they protect residents from natural and man-made disasters.
