Beshear sworn in as Kentucky Governor

Lexington, KY – Steve Beshear says he will spend the next four years in office fighting through the challenges that face Kentucky by focusing on young people and job creation. Brenna Angel has more from the governor's inauguration.

Beshear was publicly sworn in on the Capitol steps, promising to faithfully execute the office of Governor and affirming that he has never fought a duel with deadly weapons. In his speech, Beshear called for all of Kentucky's leaders, in government and other sectors, to work together.

"We must take transformational action whose impact will be greatest no for us but for our children and our children's children."

Lt. Governor Jerry Abramson vowed that he will be the most active Lt. Governor in modern Kentucky history.

Beshear and Abramson have a lot of work ahead of them. The 2012 legislative session starts January 3. The State of the Commonwealth Address is scheduled for January 4th.
