Murray KY – The organization Taxpayers United of America is calling on Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear to end the secrecy surrounding pension payments to state government retirees. The group's vice president, Christina Tobin, says Kentucky is one of only a few states that don't disclose pension payments, even though it freely discloses wages of employees. Tobin says Kentuckians have a right to know how much money retirees receive. She says she will deliver a letter to Beshear Monday asking him to release pension information. The group also has scheduled a news conference at the Capitol. Tobin says Kentucky is one of the nation's most secretive states when it comes to pension payments to retirees that can total in the millions of dollars for some over the course of their retirements.
