Murray, KY – 2011 was a good year for extreme weather in the region. The National Weather Service's top ten events in our region include flooding, excessive snow and heat, and severe storms. Meteorologist Jim Packett says severe weather's not uncommon in this area, but so many events in one year is a little unusual.
"We had a number of severe weather events in the spring and early summer. It's been a fairly eventful year. There's been a lot of records met or broken and it's kept us pretty busy."
