
Matt Markgraf
Volunteer HostMatt Markgraf joined the WKMS team as a student in January 2007. He's served in a variety of roles over the years: as News Director March 2016-September 2019 and previously as the New Media & Promotions Coordinator beginning in 2011. Prior to that, he was a graduate and undergraduate assistant. He is currently the host of the international music show Imported on Sunday nights at 10 p.m.
Matt has led the management of the station's website, online streaming and social media platforms. He's also developed promotional and marketing materials over the years. He enjoys writing, working with student journalists, traveling around the region, meeting listeners and learning new things every day.
He has a bachelor's degree in Theatre and a master's degree in Creative Writing from Murray State University.
For 11 years, Matt volunteer hosted the electronic music program Weekend Energy Saturday nights, showcasing the genre's soulful and diverse celebration of international culture. For fans of the show, he still maintains a Weekend Energy Spotify playlist.
He formerly coordinated and hosted the classical music program Carson Myre Youth Series. Matt has produced an assortment of interviews for Sounds Good and has led initiatives in the Youth Radio Project.
In his free time, he enjoys cooking international cuisine, discovering new music, reading science fiction and has recently taken to recording public domain audiobooks.
