Kentucky’s jobless rate continues a steady decline below the national average according to the latest report from the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training.
The unemployment rate, not seasonally adjusted, now sits at 4.6% in the commonwealth and 4.7% in the nation.
Calloway County has the lowest rate in far western Kentucky with 3.9%. Ballard County has the highest at 7.6%.
The lowest rate statewide is in Woodford County at 3%. The highest is in Magoffin County at 14.1%. Kentucky’s labor force is 2,004,254.
The statistics include non-military workers and unemployed Kentuckians actively seeking work.
Kentucky’s unemployment rate peaked in 2010 and has seen a steady decline since.
