A couple is facing prison time after pleading guilty to stealing copper wire from lighting systems along Kentucky highways, causing millions of dollars in damage.
Aaron and Cindy Ferguson face 10 years and 12 months of prison respectively. The Fergusons were originally charged for 22 incidents of copper wire thefts in nine counties between April and November of last year. The two were caught after an informant came forward for a reward from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
KYTC and the State Police continue to offer their $2,500 dollar reward for information leading to the criminal prosecution of those stealing copper wire from highway lights.
