NPR's Joanne Silberner reports that a new study is questioning the value of a test commonly performed on heart patients. The test, known as 'right heart catherization,' is performed on an estimated one million patients each year, at a cost of more than two Billion dollars. The new study, in the Journal of the American Medical Association, indicates that the test has no value, and may actually harm patients.
