The civil trial of O.J. Simpson begins today. NPR's Ina Jaffe reports on a flurry of motions, which includes a limit on the defense team's assertion of the theory that Simpson was framed by racist police. Because the trial is an action brought by the victims' families for monetary damages, the burden of proof for the plaintiffs is far less rigorous than it was for the district attorney's office.
