NPR's David Welna reports that President Clinton's controversial twenty-billion-dollar bailout of Mexico is succeeding. The 1995 package helped Mexico hold to a free market strategy, and now unemployment and inflation are going down, and the economy is showing signs of a comeback. Mr. Clinton has not made the bailout's success an issue in the campaign, however... his aides fear any mention of Mexico will remind voters about drug trafficking and illegal immigration.
