Dr. Francis Collins, the director of the government's efforts to study the human genetic code, has withdrawn five scientific papers that were published under his name. Collins says that one of the junior scientists on his team of researchers has admitted to fabricating data in studies of leukemia that were used to advance the Human Genome Project.
