The military has its own system of justice, entirely separate from that of the civilian world. It deals with serious felonies like murder or rape. And it also handles less serious offenses, including ones that are rarely or never prosecuted in the civilian world. But the military justice system is largely a mystery to the general public, as NPR's Wendy Kaufman reports.
