Pill Splitting

NPR's Patricia Neighmond reports on the practice of pill splitting by some HMO's. A public-interest law firm is filing a class action lawsuit tomorrow in California, charging that a large HMO there is forcing patients to split pills as a way to save money. The HMO denies the policy is mandatory and maintains that it is only suggested in a limited number of cases.
