Aurora, Ky. – In January our correspondent Jacque Day covered the reopening of the historic dining room at Cherokee State Resort. The park opened in Aurora in 1951 for African-Americans, Kentucky's answer to separate-but-equal. There, she encountered an area gentleman who came to the park as a boy. To commemorate Black History Month, Jacque brings us one man's personal reflection on growing up in segregated Kentucky.
