Paducah, KY – The National Weather Service in Paducah projects a major storm system will move through the WKMS listening region tomorrow. Lead forecaster Jim Packett says the storm should hit around noon and clear off by 7 PM. He warns hail and tornadoes are likely. Packett says the system will travel at speeds of over 60 miles per hour.
"They're going to really be moving fast, it's going to be hard to keep up with them. Uh, not only for spotters and whatnot, but it will be hard for us to keep up with them as well in regards to issuing warnings and whatnot."
Packett says rain accumulation of between one and two inches is expected with the storms. Forecasters also predict a slight risk for severe thunderstorms tonight with possible hail. Stay tuned to WKMS tomorrow for detailed forecasts throughout the day.
