Lexington, KY – The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games are now just four months away, and Lexington is releasing more details about its accompanying festival. Organizers have released a line-up of local and regional acts which will perform. Mayor Jim Newberry says Spotlight Lexington will also include a special parade.
"The variety of our equine world will be on full display in a parade we're calling Celebrating the Equine Spirit. And we want to encourage all horse groups and related industries to participate in the parade."
This is the first time the World Equestrian Games have been held in the United State. A study from the University of Louisville estimates the two-week-long event could generate one-hundred-sixty-seven million dollars in economic benefit for Kentucky. Spotlight Lexington gets under way September 24, the eve of the games.
