Paris, TN – The Tennessee state Senate approved a conference committee recommendation late last week clearing the way for a Henry County marina to acquire a license to sell liquor by the drink under reworked guidelines. In a close vote, the Senate OK'd the reworked bill that should lead to a liquor license for the Breakers of Swan Bay marina in the Paris Landing area.
The Paris Post-Intelligencer reports the legislation now has been sent back to the state House of Representatives. It's likely the House will pass the measure, because it's already done so once back in April. That could happen as early as today. It will then go to Governor Phil Bredesen for his signature.
