Murray, KY – The Kentucky State Nature Preserve Commission is purchasing various tracts of land that may be home to some unique ecosystems. Among those purchases is a parcel near New Concord now called the Blood River Nature Preserve. The new preserve houses a number of rare species. Rose Krzton-Presson learns why this region provides such unique habitats for these rarities.
