Kentucky – Often, when investigating our Civil War ancestors, it's not uncommon to take special note of the battles in which they fought. We may even want to visit those places. For example, you may have had someone at the 1862 battles of Fort Donelson or Shiloh in Tennessee, or Sharpsburg in Maryland. In Kentucky, there's Perryville, Richmond, and Munfordville. The opportunity to go to these places is the result of years of preservation work.In the 150 years since those battles, Kentuckians have worked to preserve our historic sites. Charles Compton reports on their progress.
