Nashville, TN – 150 years ago this week, Tennessee became the eleventh and final state to secede from the Union and join the Confederacy. The state plans to commemorate the sesquicentennial of the American Civil War through historical events, re-enactments and other special observances. But remembering the conflict without glorifying makes for rough sailing, and Volunteer State historians are navigating it very carefully. Tennessee Public Radio's Brandon Hollingsworth reports.
