Murray, KY – Economic development is difficult even when times are good, never mind when things are tough. But if the times are going to get better for our region's river industries, it's an effort that will have to be made. And one Paducah attorney is in a unique position to do just that.
The Four Rivers Region is more than just a clever nickname for our area; it's indicative of just how important the rivers are to our economic health. The Propeller Club is a national and international non-profit organization working to promote the maritime industry, not only on the world's oceans, but also on inland waterways like the Ohio, Mississippi, Tennessee and Cumberland rivers. Sonny Smith is an attorney in Paducah and a past president of the club's chapter in the River City. Now, Smith is in line to lead the international organization and he speaks with Chad Lampe about what he's hoping to accomplish for both the maritime industry as a whole, and for our region.
