Paducah, KY – Paducah resident Gerald Guiling has been an inventor for 35 years. His focus is finding simple and inexpensive ways to foster American energy independence using the sun's rays, and he may have done just that. Guiling has several patents pending, some of which could be game-changers for the energy industry. However, he hasn't yet managed to turn his innovations into financial gain. So, after 3 and a half decades, Guiling decided to auction off his patents and plans to retire from his work. Todd Hatton went to the auction in Paducah and spoke to Guiling about his inventions and the struggles that came with them.
