Murray, KY – Benji Bohannon is the son of Bennie and Darlene Bohannon of Marshall County. He studied drums with the legendary Chuck Simons of Murray, studied at Murray State when he worked for WKMS a while, and ultimately earned a degree from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver in 2008. Kate Lochte asks Benji about his new, quite glorious gig on public radio.
Percussionist Benji Bohannon of the Jim Cullum Jazz Band of San Antonio, Texas, often heard on nationally-syndicated public radio show Riverwalk Jazz (heard on WKMS Sundays at 1 pm). Benji worked with WKMS when he was a student at Murray State and keeps in touch when he's back for visits.
