Murray, Ky – Since the mid 1980s, flutist Sherry Winston has been at the forefront of great innovative jazz. Performing with stellar artists and producers like Najee, Roberta Flack the late Grover Washington, Jr. and Quincy Jones, Winston has thrilled audiences with her unique interpretations of works by The Police, Rodgers and Hart, and Beyonce Knowles, in addition to her own original compositions. Her latest album "For Your Love," on the Flying Flute Records label has been well received by critics and listeners alike.

However, Ms. Winston's musical talents are only a part of her vast contribution to the development of American music. For over thirteen years she has played vital and instrumental roles in the recording industry as National Director of Jazz Promotion for Columbia Records, GRP, Arista, Elektra and others. Moreover, she currently conducts Music Business Seminars to Universities & Arts organizations for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Preforming Arts, as well as prestigious centers of learning like Western Connecticut State University, Washington DC's Howard University, Nashville's celebrated Fisk University, as well as overseas institutions as the University of the Virgin Islands.

Recently, MSU History Professor, and Thursday night host of "Cafe Jazz," Dr. Brian Clardy sat down and talked with her via telephone interview. Here is the extended audio of that conversation.
