Murray, KY – This coming Tuesday is Kentucky's Election Day. We will select a governor and lieutenant governor, along with a host of other statewide offices. Well, at least some of us will. I sat down with Dr. Martin Battle, of Murray State's Department of Government, Law, and International Affairs to talk about how the election cycle may be contributing to low voter numbers, as well as why independent candidates like Lexington attorney Gatewood Galbraith continue to face long election odds. Dr. Martin Battle is an assistant professor in Murray State's College of Government, Law, and International Affairs. WKMS News will bring you the latest Election night returns Tuesday evening at 6:30, 7, and 8. And of course, we'll recap the results and the reactions Wednesday during Morning Edition.
