Murray, KY – Essay contests have been a way for school children to commemorate Veterans Day over the years. This year in Paducah a committee read through more than 800 essays from kindergarteners through twelfth graders. The Kindergarteners drew pictures, considering their essay skills haven't been honed. For the third through fifth grade category the committee selected Austin Walker from Concord Elementary for the first place prize. Chad Lampe speaks with 10 year old Walker who's in the 5th grade.
