Murray, KY – The Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice tells the story of Hades' plot to steal Eurydice away from her new husband Orpheus. Orpheus travels to the underworld and convinces Hades to let her come back on one condition: he must lead her out of the underworld without looking back at her. Just before they are free, Orpheus is tempted to look back, and Eurydice is lost forever. Murray State's theater and music departments are putting on a comedic version of this famous tragedy. Rose Krzton-Presson spoke with Director Dr. Christopher Mitchell about the opera "Orpheus in the Underworld."
