Paducah, KY – Statistics in the city of Paducah from 2000-2008 show poverty in the city growing at an alarming rate of five and a half percent, nearly fourteen times the state and national average. In response to concern voiced by community leaders, the Paducah/McCracken County United Way began developing a plan to Impact Poverty. After nearly two years of study and development, officials unveiled the plan this week. Gary Pitts sits down with Executive Director Ashley Wright to discuss what went into the study, what the findings were, and how the group intends to Impact Poverty. Here's a link to the full plan.
