Western Kentucky Singer/Songwriter Kevin Ray Brost says he never imagined his debut single would hit iTunes charts in Thailand, Norway, Germany, Botswana, and Nepal.
“I didn’t expect it to chart anywhere. It was just like a debut kind of thing and it just kind of took storm and number 12 online number 7 on radio. Wild,” Brost said.
Brost released his first single titled “Stay” over the summer and the song has also garnered traction stateside, reaching number 12 on the U.S. singer/songwriter Top Songs iTunes chart.
Brost said “Stay” tells the story of a father wishing he could make up for lost time with his son. “It’s about regret and wishing you could be there during the times that you couldn’t and really trying to make up for lost time for somebody,” Brost said.
A Cape Girardeau, Missouri, native and senior at Murray State University studying music business, Brost said the most important thing to him is making an impact on others through his music.
