Kentucky unemployment rates are on the rise. According to the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training and Kentucky Labor Market Information between March 2015 and March 2016 rates rose in 65 counties, fell in 37 and stayed the same in 18.
Four Rivers Region:
The average rate in the Four Rivers Region is around 6.5%.
Ballard County has the highest rate at 9.9%, followed by Livingston at 8.4% and Muhlenberg at 7.9%. Daviess County has the lowest at 5.1% percent, followed by Calloway and Todd at 5.2%.
Statewide:
Magoffin County had the highest unemployment rate at 20.1%. Woodford County recorded the lowest jobless rate at 3.6%.
Kentucky’s overall unemployment rate is 5.8%, compared to a 5.1% national average.
