Pharmaceutical company AmerisourceBergen is closing its distribution center in Paducah, affecting around 90 employees.
AmerisourceBergen communications director Lauren Moyer says the decision was not made lightly and is “part of an ongoing effort to evaluate and align our capabilities to our customers’ needs”.
Moyer says the impacted employees are encouraged to apply for new positions with the company, which handles nearly 35 percent of all pharmaceuticals sold in the country.
AmerisourceBergen will end operations in Paducah by next spring.
