The Carson-Myre Charitable Foundation has awarded a $144,290 grant to a regional hospice care center to expand faith-based ministry outreach.
The grant assists Lourdes Hospice & Palliative Care by funding a spiritual care counselor at Lourdes Hospital and a hospice counselor the The Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.
Lourdes Hospice Executive Director Kay Williams expressed gratitude in a news release. “We have served over 450 patients since The Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center opened in April of 2015. This grant will allow our comprehensive palliative care program to continue its faith-based ministry outreach," Williams says.
Palliative care focuses on relief from symptoms and stress from serious illness.
