Vanderbilt Chemicals plans to invest $13.7 million dollars to expand its Murray facility and increase production and output.
According to a release, the expansion includes a new spray drying system and a building to house the equipment.
Vanderbilt Chemicals manufactures additive compounds and produces dried, purified and finished smectite and bentonite clay used by many industries.
The company currently employs 97 people. State officials say the expansion will also create 4 new positions.
Company officials expect to complete construction in early 2019.
