Unemployment rates fell in all 120 Kentucky counties between March 2017 and March 2018. That’s according to the Kentucky Center for Education and Workforce Statistics.
In west Kentucky, Ballard County ranked among the top ten highest unemployment rates in the state at 7.5 percent.
The unemployment rate for the state was 4.4 percent for March 2018, and 4.1 percent for the nation. The unemployment rate for the Purchase Area was 5.5 percent and the Pennyrile Area was 5.2 percent.
The numbers include non-military workers and unemployed Kentuckians who are actively seeking work.
