Hopkinsville-based Heritage Bank is part of a merger deal with banking companies First Financial and HopFed Bancorp.
The companies announced the agreement this week to merge HFBC and its subsidiary Heritage Bank into First Financial in a cash and stock transaction.
Through Heritage, HFBC operates 18 bank branches and three loan production offices in Kentucky and Tennessee. The bank branch locations in Kentucky include Benton, Cadiz, Calvert City, Fulton and Murray. Tennessee locations include Clarksville and Erin. HFBC has roughly $905 million in consolidated assets.
First Financial is based in Indiana and operates 65 banking centers in Illinois and Indiana. First Financial has assets of approximately $3 billion.
The merger is anticipated to grant First Financial approximately $3.9 billion dollars in total combined consolidated assets.
